Like most savvy, young Millenials, Mikaela and Kevin met on a dating app. What started as a virtual romance became a reality when they met for drinks at the tiki bar Pagan Idol, in downtown San Francisco, one Friday evening in September 2021. Drinks led to dinner at Tadich Grill, and then more drinks at House of Shields (hey–it was a Friday night!) A second date followed a few nights later. And then another date, and another, and before they knew it they were head over heels for each other.

Mikaela appreciated Kevin’s pragmatic approach to life. Of not worrying too much about the “What ifs” and charging full steam ahead toward his goals. Kevin loved Mikaela’s quick, dry wit. Her effortless humor instantly endearing.

As their relationship blossomed, they began to take on new, shared hobbies. Saturday afternoons were spent caring for cherry tomatoes and strawberries growing on Kevin’s tiny balcony. Sunday evenings were spent at a local pottery studio learning the art of ceramics. On weeknights, they’d meet after work and cook dinner together. Both enjoyed trying new recipes or making up their own.

Time passed and life continued on–as it does. Their lives became so woven together that eventually, neither could remember what life was like before they met each other. In November of 2022 they moved in together. A month later they adopted a golden retriever puppy, Moose. By spring of 2023 they both decided that this was the Real Deal and they wanted to make it official. Kevin proposed to Mikaela while on vacation in Hawaii in July 2023.

These days, their lives revolve around taking Moose on new adventures (she’s gotten to swim in rivers and the ocean, and gone on walks in the Redwoods), growing vegetables and flowers in their backyard, and doing weekend road trips around California when they can. Now, they are looking forward to their wedding and building the rest of their lives together. They hope you are able to join them to celebrate.
